Fraud prevention: A quick security checklist to fight fraud

Fraud is on the rise nationwide, and we don’t want to see any Stanford FCU member become a victim! The fraudsters are getting more sophisticated every day, but we’ve got tools to protect your accounts and some easy actions to help you repel those sneaky fiends.

Security Checklist
☐ Set up real-time text alerts in Card Controls on your debit and credit cards to monitor purchases. Digital Card Controls

☐ Set up real-time text alerts in Settings on your spending, savings, and loan accounts to monitor activity. Manage Account Alerts

☐ We regularly send emails and text messages with confirmations and secure access codes, but if it’s unexpected then let us know ASAP (and never give anyone a secure access code unless you contacted us and we’re verifying your identity) Learn more

☐ Review your account activity regularly to check for anything unusual (at least once a month). Check now

☐ Enroll in eStatements to guard your account information from mail theft. Services > Statements

☐ Save Stanford FCU in your phone contacts so you can quickly call us any time something doesn’t feel right, like an impersonator calling from Stanford FCU with an urgent request (remember that fraudsters can spoof our phone number so hang up and call us back). 888.723.7328
